Ginger cake.

200g SR Flour 0.10

2 tsp ground ginger 0.14

1 tsp Ground cinnamon 0.05

100g Butter 0.75

250ml milk 0.15

130g brown sugar 0.39

160g Black Treacle 0.36

1 tsp bi carb 0.04

1 egg 0.13

Total cost 2.11

6 Slices @ 0.35

Put the butter , milk, sugar and treacle in a pan and melt.

Allow to cook and add the bi carb and egg and mix together.

Combine the flour and spices and mix together.

Add the flour mix to the wet ingredients and mix into a smooth batter.

Pour into a 2lb loaf tin.

Bake at 180c / 356f / gas 5 for 45mins.
